Jesaia (Sjaak) Swart (born July 3, 1938, in Muiderberg) is a former Dutch footballer who played for Ajax Amsterdam a total of almost 600 matches, a record for the club. ==Biography== He is half-Jewish (on his Father's side) and was born in Muiderberg, a village about 15 kilometers east of Amsterdam. His father sold herring in the local market and at times would sell trinkets at his son's games. In addition he would dress as Santa Clause before Christmas to make extra money. During the war his father would hide himself as a non-Jew, but he still has many stories of almost being caught by the Nazi's. After Sjaak's mother died, his father married again, this time to a women 30 years his younger. Sjaak and his half-brother stopped communicating after the passing of their father.〔()〕 Nicknamed Mr. Ajax, he played for Ajax Amsterdam a total of almost 600 matches, a record for the club. He was part of their European Cup victories in 1971, 1972, 1973.
